My Spider-verse Theory

I come up with a lot of theories about my favorite movies and TV shows, and I am almost always wrong, but that doesn’t stop me from theorizing. I have been working on a theory about the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man for a while now, and I am ready to publish it.

It’s become clear to me after watching “Captain America: Civil War”, “Spider-Man Homecoming”, and “Avengers: Infinity War” that “Homecoming” is not in the same universe as the other two. They are very similar, but they are parallel universes, as shown by the multiple continuity errors. The biggest one is that “Homecoming” takes place eight years after “The Avengers” but “Infinity War” takes place six years after the first “Avengers”. Second, Peter’s apartment he lives in with Aunt May is completely different in “Homecoming” than it is in “Civil War”. Also, the video Peter shoots at the German airport shown in “Homecoming” is different than how it plays out in “Civil War”.

Sony has two upcoming Spider-Man related movies coming out at the end of this year. The first is “Venom”, which as been described as adjacent to the MCU but is not in the MCU. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is rumored to have a cameo in that movie. The second is “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse” which takes place in an alternate universe that has Peter Parker, Miles Morales, “Spider Gwen” Stacey, and probably more.

The sequel to “Spider-Man Homecoming” which immediately follows “Avengers IV” was recently revealed to be called “Spider-Man Far From Home”. The movie is confirmed to be about Peter Parker going on a trip to Europe with his friends, and the title is confirmed to have multiple meanings.

[SPOILERS for “Avengers: Infinity War” below this point.]

I predict that the “Homecoming” universe is immune from the events of “Infinity War”, and that the “Homecoming” Peter Parker is still alive while the “Avengers” Peter Parker is dust. I’m thinking that not only will “Avengers IV” use time-travel but also visit parallel universes. “Doctor Strange” has already set up multiple universes, and “Ant-Man” has set up different realms. It is possible that “Homecoming” Peter Parker is brought into the Avengers reality, and that is another way he is “Far From Home”.
